Grubb Mansion

135 North Lime Street

Red bows decorate the Doric columns of the Grubb Mansion for Christmas. The Classical Revival details of this house are among the finest in Lancaster County.
The house was built in 1846 for the family of ironmaster Clement Bates Grubb. By the 1880s Grubb was the wealthiest resident of Lancaster. One of the best known residents of this home was the ironmaster’s unmarried daughter, Daisy Grubb. Miss Daisy was prominent in the city’s social life throughout the early 20th century.
Today the Grubb Mansion is home of the Lancaster Museum of Art.
