This substantial townhouse was built ca. 1864. The house features a double gallery along a side elevation. The front entry has a fanlight and sidelights in the Federal style of an earlier era. An ornate doorhood shelters the entry.
In the 1870s and 80s this was the home of prosperous merchant William Diller Sprecher and wife Martha (Lewis) Sprecher. Mr. Sprecher was a dealer in farm implements and seeds.
