To my eyes this is Lancaster City's most graceful Colonial Revival home. It was built in 1897 for Mary Reynolds, widow of Lancaster attorney Samuel H. Reynolds. Research by Deb Oesch reveals the house was designed by Architect James H. Warner for Mary Reynolds.
In addition to being named the Mary Reynolds House, the house is sometimes referred to as the C. Eugene Montgomery House. He was her son-in-law, and lived here after her death.
The house features fanlights and sidelights, porches supported by classical columns, pedimented dormers, and a modillioned cornice. Today it is Visage a' Visage, a day spa and salon.
