In Chronological Order:
1872 – Northern Market (N. Queen @ W. Walnut) – Architect: J. H. Baumgartner; demolished by snow in 1883, rebuilt 1884 – Architect: John H. Evans; sold in 1952 to a developer; closed 31 Mar 1953; destroyed by fire; demolished in 1958.
1882 – Western Market (W. Orange @ Pine) – Architect: Jacob Nothdurft – opened 1883; closed 5 Feb 1919; building sold for a garage and auto salesroom; upper floors destroyed by fire in 1942.
1883 – Eastern Market (E. King @ Church) – Architect: John H. Evans – opened Dec 1883; closed 1 Apr 1920; building sold Sep 1919 for garage and service station.
1888 – Southern Market (S. Queen @ Vine) – Architect: C. Emlen Urban; closed 26 Apr 1986.
1889 – Central Market – Architect: James H. Warner.
1908 – Fulton Market (N. Plum) – Architect: C. Emlen Urban; opened 29 Aug 1908; closed 31 Dec 1971; building sold in 1981.
1927 – Arcade Market (N. Prince @ W. Orange) opened 26 Apr 1927 in first floor of Arcade Garage; fire on 3rd floor 26 Sep 1953; closed c. 1966; building demolished in 1969.
1954 – West End Market (501 W. Lemon @ Mary) – opened in 1954; one-story brick building (c. 1914) was formerly a car dealership; closed in 3 Aug 1985.
