Bef 1859 - South Duke Street School, S. Duke St. at Church St.  (Used over the years as a Primary and Secondary School; by 1886 Sanborn Map, it was a series of five one-story buildings, which were torn down when the "new" brick, Duke Street School was built in 1890.)

1841/1842 - African School of the Lancaster City School District, 2nd block S. Queen St., eastside, in the former Lancaster Friends Meetinghouse

Bef 1869 - North Prince Street School, N. Prince & Chestnut Sts. (Used as a primary, secondary, high school, and administration building.) Architect:  unknown

1875
- Boys High School, north side of W. Orange St. (Razed for new Boys’ High School c. 1916).  Architect:  C. L. Stiles

- Rockland Street School (7th Ward), Rockland St. (Became E. E. Higbee SchoolArchitect:  C. L. Stiles

- James Street School, W. James St. between Charlotte & Mary Sts. (2 story, 4-room, brick; closed and sold c. 1938) Architect: unknown

- Lemon Street School, N. Lime & E. Lemon Sts. (8-room; 1886 addition; became C. Elvin Haupt School; 3rd floor removed; sold 1980). Architect:  Frank E. Davis, Baltimore

1882
- Manor Street School, northwest side of Manor St. between 3rd & 4th Sts. (2-story, 4-room, brick; closed and sold c. 1938).  Architect:  R. M. Morrow

1883
- Ann Street School, 30 N. Ann at Grant St. (1906- annex; 1935 became Ann Street Opportunity School); moved from N. Mulberry St., Special School which was abandoned; became William Henry School, closed 1962; sold 1974; c.1983 - SACA private Hispanic business and trade school; currently La Academia - The Partnership Charter School).  Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

- New Street School, E. New & N. Christian Sts. (2-story, 4-room, brick; 1934 - vocational school; closed and sold c. 1938) Architect:  unknown 1884 Prince Street School (4th Ward), 510 S. Prince St. (Became Jacob Eichholtz School; closed 1974, and sold by 1980). Architect:  Jacob Nothdurft; (1928 addition – Henry Y. Shaub)

- West Walnut Street School, W. Walnut & Mary Sts. (2-story, brick; closed and sold c. 1938) Architect:  unknown

- Chestnut Street School, south side of W. Chestnut St. at Concord St. (razed c. 1938, and used as playground for Stevens Elementary. School) Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

- Mulberry Street School, S. Mulberry St. at W. Vine St. (Closed in 1935; sold to St. Joseph’s Parochial School 1939) Architect:  James H. Warner

- Franklin Street School, E. Chestnut & Franklin Sts.; 1901 -- addition (Became Benjamin Franklin School - sold in 1941, and torn down).  Architect:  James H. Warner

- Strawberry Street School, 512 E. Strawberry St. (Became Adam Reigart School; closed 1973; now Bethel AME Cultural Center).  Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

- Pearl Street School, First & Pearl Sts. (Became Thomas Mifflin School; closed 1973; sold 1982). Architect:  James H. Warner

- Stevens Girls High School, N. Charlotte at E. Chestnut St. (Became Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School; closed 1983; sold). Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

- Fremont Street School (8th Ward), 1000 Fremont St. at Love Lane. 12-room, 2 stories, brick.  (Became Lafayette School). Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

1909
- Rockland Street School (7th Ward), Rockland & Dauphin Sts. (12-room, 2 stories, brick; became E.E. Higbee School). Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

1916
- Boys High School, W. Orange St. (Became Robert Fulton Elementary) Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

1922
- South West End Avenue School, West End Ave. & Maple Ave. (Replaced the Bitnerville School; became James Buchanan Middle School, Lancaster Twp.; merged with Lancaster School District.  Architect:  C. Emlen Urban

- West Junior High School, W. Walnut & Nevin Sts. (and 1927 addition) (Became John F. Reynolds Junior High School).  Architect:  C. Emlen Urban; Wm. B. Ittner, consulting architect
