This double house was built ca. 1872 – 1874 by businessman Barton B. Martin as an investment property. Mr. Martin was a primary developer of this Chestnut Hill neighborhood. He lived with his family a few doors away at the towering Second-Empire style house named West Lawn.
The double house features a mansard roof, bracketed cornice, double paneled doors with oval transoms, and arched dormers.
