This 1921 Colonial Revival home was built by Lancaster’s favorite homegrown architect: C. Emlen Urban. It was the home of Andrew H. and Mildred Rote. The A. B. Rote Company produced architectural iron, fencing, and awnings here in Lancaster.
The brickwork includes bands of soldier coursing, with decorative stone lozenges and keystones. There is a wood cornice with modillions. Tuscan columns support the arched hood over the entry. The house faces Buchanan Park. A giant white pumpkin decorated the front steps for autumn.
