Lancaster architect C. Emlen Urban designed this sedate Colonial Revival home in the 1920s. It was the home of Dr. Clarence R. Farmer and wife Laura (Wohlsen) Farmer. Dr. Farmer was chief of surgical staff at Lancaster General Hospital.
The house is located at the western edge of the city. During this era, the 1920s, Colonial Revival homes were the height of fashion, here in this leafy, almost-suburban neighborhood.
