1009 Buchanan Avenue Lancaster, PA

This leafy Lancaster City home was the residence of Lancaster’s most important architect: C. Emlen Urban. He designed the home for his family in 1914. It faces Buchanan Park in the city’s West End.
The dwelling's Colonial Revival design is conservative, but it was high style in Lancaster at that time. The first floor is stone, with stucco on the second floor. A pent roof is broken by a pedimented hood over the entry. Arch-top dormers with casement windows are paired on the slate roof.
