This six-bay, double house was built in the early 1880s. It features a wide, bracketed cornice and flat roof in an Italianate style. The ornate front porch is supported by braces and chamfered posts.
In the 1880s house number 443 (on the left) was the home of bookseller / historian / antiquarian Samuel H. Zahm and wife Kathryn (Bender) Zahm. In addition to being a well-known bibliophile he also was a leading collector of American Indian artifacts.
